The Carrera Cup mod is considered one of the best Porsche simulations available. Developed by German Sim Mod Foundation in cooperation with german race drivers, it sports a ridiculously detailed approach to simulation of race car physics. For example - one of the factors, computed in real time and influencing the car's behavior is... the movement of the fuel in a gas tank during braking / accelerating / turning. Detailed adjustments such as diameter of brake cooling ducts are available, even the tire compound characteristics and slip curve can be programmed. Physics of 18 points of suspension is computed in a real time for each wheel independently. Powertrain of the real car can be duplicated with high fidelity in rFactor, including gear and final drive ratios, limited slip differential settings, engine characteristics can be programmed based on torque curve...
The possibilities are endless. Plus, it lets us drive a Porsche :). The choice was obvious.
